Who we are
One office, one contract
The firm was established in Karachi in 1981 by Engr. Nazar Siddiqui as Atif Nazar Associates, and entered on the Pakistan Engineering Council register on 4 June 1982. It practises today as ATIF NAZAR (Pvt.) Ltd., led by his sons, Engr. Atif Nazar Siddiqui, Chief Executive, and Engr. Wasif Nazar Siddiqui, Managing Director.
It is licensed by the Pakistan Council of Architects & Town Planners (PCATP), registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), and pre-qualified with SPPRA and DGME for public-sector work.
Project management, planning, architecture and the engineering disciplines are held in the same office. On the Pir Abdul Qadir Shah Jeelani Institute of Medical Sciences at Gambat and on PNS Shifa, Karachi, a single contract covers master planning, architecture, structural and MEP engineering, road and infrastructure engineering, and project management — the client co-ordinates one consultant, not a separate firm for each discipline.

Method
How a project runs
From the first survey to handover, under one contract. The stages below are the ones the practice is retained for, in the order they run.
- 01
Feasibility and survey
Site levels, constraints and access; topographic, geotechnical and hydrological survey; technical and financial feasibility; and the regulatory clearances a scheme needs before it can proceed.
- 02
Master planning
Land use, levels, circulation, phasing and the position of every block, settled before any building is drawn — from an 8.47-acre law campus at Korangi to the 203.77-acre King Edward Medical University campus at Muridke.
- 03
Design, coordinated in one office
Architecture, structural, MEP, road and infrastructure engineering carried by one firm rather than split between consultants. At Gambat that ran from the campus master plan to a trauma centre, a burns centre and four transplant units inside one complex.
- 04
Tender documentation and contract conditions
Bid documents and evaluation, and the conditions of contract the works are let under — FIDIC, GCC-standard, MDB Harmonised or bespoke, which is what a donor-funded project turns on.

Construction supervision and quality assurance
The drawings checked against what is actually built. On the SZABUL Korangi campus and the ASF Academy, supervision and quality assurance sit inside the same contract rather than in a separate one.
- 06
Phasing around a working facility
Where a building has to stay in service, the programme is planned around it. The PNS Shifa upgrade was phased around vacant parts of the 60-acre site so Karachi's largest military hospital kept working throughout.
