FIDIC Asia Pacific Project Award 2025
The certificate is made out to Atif Nazar (Private) Ltd., Pakistan, in the category For Outstanding Infrastructure Project, for the Pir Abdul Qadir Shah Jeelani Institute of Medical Sciences, Gambat, Khairpur Mirs — formerly the Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences.
It is signed by Catherine Karakatsanis, President of FIDIC, and Sudhir Dhawan, President of FIDIC Asia Pacific, and was received by the Managing Director, Engr. Wasif Nazar Siddiqui. This is a regional award, made by FIDIC Asia Pacific — the Asia Pacific body of FIDIC, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers.

Standing
Registrations and professional standing
What a procurement committee needs on file before it can shortlist a consultant.
ATIF NAZAR (Pvt.) Ltd. is licensed by the Pakistan Council of Architects & Town Planners (PCATP) and is pre-qualified with SPPRA and DGME, which is what admits the practice to provincial and federal government work.
Engr. Wasif Nazar Siddiqui, Managing Director, is also an elected Board Member of FIDIC Asia Pacific — the regional board of the federation. He is the first Pakistani elected to any FIDIC board since the founding of FIDIC in 1913 and of FIDIC Asia Pacific in 1995. He is also Honorary Secretary of ACEP, the Association of Consulting Engineers, Pakistan. The seat is held by the Managing Director in his own name; the firm is not itself a board member.
The FIDIC suite is the standard contract form on World Bank and Asian Development Bank funded works — the same procurement regime as the overseas medical school the practice is designing for Maldives National University at Hulhumalé.

By sector
Who the practice works for
Grouped by the kind of buyer each one is, and set against what the practice delivered for that sector.
Defence and security
Hospitals and training estate for the Pakistan Navy and the Airport Security Force.
For the Pakistan Navy the practice designed PNS Hafeez in Islamabad — a 500-bed hospital of 675,000 sq ft with emergency, radiology and blood bank — and is upgrading PNS Shifa, Karachi's largest military healthcare facility, across a 60-acre site that stays in service throughout the works. For the Airport Security Force it master planned and designed the academy beside Jinnah International Airport, 70 acres and 464,746 sq ft of academic blocks, hostels, firing range, auditorium and staff accommodation inside one boundary wall, and supervised the construction. Military Engineer Services is a client of the practice; no MES commission appears in the project record published on this site.

Government and public authorities
Provincial governments, a development authority and two public corporations.
For the Government of Sindh the practice was engaged on the Pir Abdul Qadir Shah Jeelani Institute of Medical Sciences at Gambat, Khairpur — formerly the Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences — a 37-acre teaching hospital and medical college whose brief included a trauma centre, an OPD complex, a burns centre, a nuclear medicine and cancer care centre and liver, kidney and bone marrow transplant units — from the master plan through structural, MEP and road engineering to project management on site. The Government of Balochistan, the Karachi Development Authority, the Workers Welfare Board Sindh and State Life Insurance Corporation are clients of the practice; their commissions are not among the projects published here.

Universities and teaching hospitals
Medical, health sciences and law campuses in Pakistan and the Maldives.
King Edward Medical University holds 203.77 acres on the Muridke–Narowal road for a new campus; the practice master planned it and designed the undergraduate and postgraduate medical colleges, the institute of dentistry, the colleges of allied health science and nursing and the tertiary care hospital, taking the elevational language from the historic Patiala Block in Lahore. Bahria University's Health Sciences Campus at Naval Anchorage, Islamabad, occupies a narrow 12.70-acre site with varying levels, where the plan redistributes space to keep patient and staff movement apart. The SZABUL campus at Korangi — 8.47 acres, 170,190 sq ft — is a law university planned as a complete academic and residential environment, and supervised through construction. Maldives National University commissioned the practice in 2024 to design a medical school for 100 students at Hulhumalé, and named it as the designer when it unveiled the drawings in Malé that February.
