Project Overview
In 2024 the Maldives National University (MNU) contracted Pakistan's Atif Nazar (Pvt.) Ltd. to design a new medical school building for 100 students. The World Bank‐funded project provides a modern campus for MNU's Faculty of Health Sciences. Atif Nazar led the detailed architectural and engineering design of the multi‐storey academic block on a 5,700-acre site, including classrooms, labs and student facilities.
The medical school, set to accommodate up to 100 students and furnished with cutting-edge facilities, will be complemented by a teaching hospital slated to feature 300 beds along with modern medical technology. Both facilities are to be constructed in Hulhumale', with MNU securing 5700 acres of land for this purpose.
