Project overview
The Sindh Government appointed the practice to design two residential blocks in GOR-I at Bath Island, Karachi. Each is ground plus fifteen storeys; one is for Grade-17 officers and one for Grade-19, and each holds 30 apartments. Together they come to 168,000 sq ft on a plot of 26,300 sq ft.
That ratio is the project. Fitting 60 households onto just over half an acre in a prime locality means building tall and taking everything else below or behind: 105 car parking spaces, a security room, a standby generator room, firefighting systems, a garbage chute, a cargo lift and passenger lifts.
The apartment layouts are planned for privacy and ease of movement within the flat, and the blocks are kept plain — clean building forms, secure access, well-planned services — rather than dressed up.
