The Pir Abdul Qadir Shah Jeelani Institute of Medical Sciences at Gambat, formerly the Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences, is a teaching hospital and medical college built for the Government of Sindh in Khairpur District.
It is the clearest example in the practice's record of what integrated delivery means in practice, which is why it is written up here rather than left as one tile on the project index.
The argument
A single hospital building has one set of services, one structural grid and one contractor to coordinate. The record for Gambat lists a medical college, a trauma centre, an OPD complex, a rapid response centre, a nuclear medicine, cancer care and research centre, and liver transplant, kidney transplant, burns and bone marrow transplant centres, on one campus.
Those are not variations on a single building. A transplant centre, a teaching college and a trauma centre have different servicing demands, different clinical adjacencies and different construction sequences, and the hard part is the ground between them rather than any one of them.
At Gambat that ground sat inside one practice. The services recorded against the commission are master planning, architecture design, structural engineering, MEP engineering, road and infrastructure engineering and project management, all under a single appointment. The interfaces that usually generate the arguments, and the variations, were internal ones.

The record lists a medical college, an OPD complex and a rapid response centre, alongside a set of tertiary centres a district hospital would not normally carry: trauma, burns, nuclear medicine and cancer care with a research centre, and liver, kidney and bone marrow transplant units.

FIDIC is the International Federation of Consulting Engineers. Its contract suite governs World Bank and Asian Development Bank funded work, so fluency in it is a practical qualification for internationally financed projects rather than a badge.
